Shaun McCoy
MMA writer and fighter
Shaun was born in Scripts Hospital, San
Diego, CA on September 16th 1980.
Since then he has traveled to Antarctica on
the research vessel World
Discoverer and won several lower level
Tennis tourneys.
In 2001 Shaun was struck by a near fatal
disease placed him into a coma for
nearly two weeks. Shaun awoke from his coma
in Richland Hospital, Columbia,
SC on June 12th 2001. He had difficulty
remembering his past and found
himself struggling even to walk more than a
few hundred feet.
He spent that summer on a horse ranch about
an hour north of Miami FL where
he began training martial arts in hopes of
regaining his physical and mental
constitution. In 2003 he graduated from USC
with an English Degree. In
2006 he competed in his first MMA fight, winning by triangle choke in the
2nd round.
Shaun is currently an undefeated (knock on
wood!) amateur fighter for the
ISCF, a professional pianist (listen in at
Thai Lotus in Columbia SC),
writer, and Technical Support Supervisor for
AT&T business class high speed
internet.
