Shingle Springs, CA (USA): Tedd Williams’ Gladiator Challenge is proud to team up once again with Shingle Springs Rancheria to bring another exciting fight event to its fans on Saturday, November 13th at 1 PM. The event, entitled “Impulse,” will feature an exciting fight card stocked with three title fights, and is scheduled to showcase twenty pro MMA fights in all. The GC Middleweight Championship, GC Super Heavyweight Championship, and GC Native American Light Heavyweight Championship will all be on the line, and the fans are sure to enjoy all the incredible fight action as the combatants lay it all on the line in order to gain athletic glory.

In the main event, Gladiator Challenge Middleweight Champion Jeff Morris will look to defend his title once again, this time against former GC Light Heavyweight Champion Rick Randolph. The champ has won three of his last four bouts in GC, while Randolph has done the same. There is no question that it will be a tough bout for both men!

The co-main event will showcase a highly-anticipated rematch for the GC Super Heavyweight title. Rick Vardell lost his very first pro MMA fight to Dan Quinn back in 2002 via TKO at a GC event. Quinn, who has also faced UFC fighter Frank Mir, GC/UFC veteran Jason “The Punisher” Lambert, and GC/Strikeforce vet Carter Williams, has competed nine times in GC, and will now vie for the belt. Standing in his way will be Vardell, who has gone 3-0 since he returned to fight action last year. Vardell will look to avenge his only loss, while taking home the belt once again.

In addition, Mike Gonzalez, the GC Native American Light Heavyweight title-holder, will defend his strap against number-one contender William “Lil’ Bear” Johnson. This encounter will surely excite the crowd, and will likely also have an effect on the GC light heavyweight rankings.

Five World Championship Fights In 43 Days Spanning Four Countries

NEW YORK (Oct. 27, 2010) – SHOWTIME Sports® will close out 2010 with an impressive boxing schedule featuring five world title fights in 43 days from four different countries.

The impressive run is capped by a can’t-miss and potentially historic Jean Pascal-Bernard Hopkins Dec. 18 showdown that was originally scheduled for pay-per-view but is now an early holiday present to fight fans on SHOWTIME.

The 2010 fall lineup is a testament to the SHOWTIME commitment to subscribers. “Our mission is simple: televise the most competitive and meaningful bouts in the sport.” said Ken Hershman, Executive Vice President and General Manager of SHOWTIME Sports®. “In a matter of weeks, SHOWTIME will air a national rivalry matchup, the best tournament fights in the sport, numerous title contests and Bernard Hopkins’ chance to make history when battling the impressive Canadian standout Jean Pascal. It’s a wonderful way to close out a very successful 2010.”

It all kicks off on Saturday, Nov. 6, with a doubleheader featuring a must-win Super Six World Boxing Classic Group Stage 3 scrap followed by a Puerto Rico vs. Mexico world championship rivalry match.

Puerto Rican superstar and WBO featherweight world champion Juan Manuel Lopez will face Mexican legend and future Hall of Famer Rafael Marquez LIVE on SHOWTIME from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

In the Nov. 6 co-feature, veteran contender Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson will face Allan Green in a Group Stage 3 bout of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. The winner of the 12-rounder between Green and Johnson will earn a spot in the tournament Semifinals.

Three weeks later, on Saturday, Nov. 27, SHOWTIME will offer a split-site, world championship doubleheader from Oakland, Calif., and Helsinki, Finland. In the opening bout, “King” Arthur Abraham will meet Carl “The Cobra” Froch for the vacant WBC world title for their pivotal Group Stage 3 bout in the Super Six World Boxing Classic. Abraham-Froch will air on same day delay from the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki.

In the second fight of the doubleheader, WBA super middleweight world champion and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward will defend his title against world ranked top-10 contender Sakio “The Scorpion” Bika. The fight, which will take place in front of Ward’s hometown fans at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., will not be part of the Super Six tournament. Ward, who is the tournament-points leader, has already locked up a semifinal berth, while Bika will be replacing Andre Dirrell in the title fight, who pulled out of his scheduled tournament bout against Ward due to injury.

Just two weeks later, on Saturday, Dec. 11, SHOWTIME will kick off yet another innovative boxing tournament featuring the world’s best bantamweights. The Bantamweight Tournament: Winner Takes All features four of the top 118-pound fighters battling in a two-round, single-elimination tournament to determine which man is atop the division.

The two semifinal matches will both take place on Dec. 11 from Domo De La Feria in Leon, Mexico In the opener, undefeated, world-ranked rising star Abner Mares will face two-division world champion Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan. Then, former IBF 118-pound champ Joseph Agbeko will try to earn back the title from the man that took it from him, current IBF champ Yonnhy “El Colombiano” Perez.

Just seven days later, on Saturday, Dec. 18, legendary future Hall of Famer and two-division world champion Hopkins will challenge WBC light heavyweight champ Pascal in his bid to become the oldest fighter in the history of boxing to win a prominent world title. The championship scrap will air live from the Pepsi Coliseum in Québec City, Canada.

The age-defying, 45-year-old Hopkins won the World Middleweight title on SHOWTIME in 1995 and successfully defended it 20 times, solidifying his place as one of the most prolific 160-pound world champions in history. He’ll face an emerging superstar coming off a career-best, upset victory over Chad Dawson, who was considered a top-5 pound-for-pound fighter and the best light heavyweight in the world prior to the loss.

All-Star Classic: Top-ranked Smith, second-ranked LeBlanc to go at 184

Kirk Smith didn’t stray far from home when he made his college choice, sticking around his native Boise, Idaho to wrestle for Greg Randall’s Boise State Broncos. He was one of the stars of his incoming class.

Joe LeBlanc, however, wasn’t on the radar for many of the nation’s big-time programs. From tiny Meeker, Colo., in the northwest corner of the state, LeBlanc didn’t wait very long to burst on to the college wrestling scene.

Coming into the season, the western combatants are ranked 1-2 and will be the second announced matchup of top-ranked wrestlers when the 2010 NWCA All-Star Classic presented by The Marines at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif., on November 21.

Both wrestlers come in as two-time All-Americans. Smith was a national finalist last year, while LeBlanc, a junior, earned his second medal in as many years.

The two have met three times previously, twice in 2009-10 and once last season. Smith holds a 3-0 advantage. Smith, a senior, bested LeBlanc by major decision both times two seasons ago, but won by a slim 3-2 margin last season.

Smith reached the finals of the 2010 NCAA Division I Championships after failing to place as a sophomore. Smith was the top seed in the tournament and finished the season an impressive 29-1.

LeBlanc finished fourth in 2010 and fifth in 2009 and wrapped up last season with a 39-6 mark. He’s won over 80 matches in his first two years under Mark Branch at the University of Wyoming.

Smith will be seventh Bronco wrestler to compete in the event and second announced for the 2010 event. Andrew Hochstrasser was announced last week to compete against Jordan Oliver of Oklahoma State at 133 pounds.

LeBlanc is only the second Wyoming wrestler to compete. Reese Andy wrestled in the event twice, in 1995 and 1996.

The 45th Annual NWCA All-Star Classic Presented by The Marines will be held at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Maximum Fighting Championship: MFC 27: Breaking Point; Official Weigh-In

Maximum Fighting Championship, the biggest mixed martial arts show in Canada, brings its official weigh-in to West Edmonton Mall, the biggest shopping centre in Canada.

All 18 fighters will be taking the stage to hit the scale and officially get things under way for MFC 27: Breaking Point which will take place live at the River Cree Resort and Casino on Friday, November 12. The fights will also be broadcast live throughout North American on HDNet Fights.

The official weigh-in will be hosted by spectacular HDNet Fights announcer Michael “The Voice” Schiavello, who is among the finalists for the World MMA Award’s Leading Man of the Year.

Included among the fighters taking part will be Douglas “The Phenom” Lima and Jesse Juarez as they will clash for the MFC World Welterweight Title. Also on hand will be Edmonton’s own Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford who will be having a showdown with arch-rival Pete “The Secret Weapon” Spratt, Fort McMurray sensation Dwayne “D-Bomb” Lewis and his opponent “Razor” Razak Al-Hassan, and rival knockout artists David Heath and Glover Teixeira.
