“The World’s Greatest Ever Boxer” 3-day boxing spectacular Oct. 2-4 at the Paris Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (July 21, 2009) – The Lightweight Division of the “The World’s Greatest Ever Boxer” reads like a “Who’s Who” of boxing, featuring seven Americans and eight Hall of Famers, ranging from Joe “The Old Master” Gans who fought in the late 19th century all the way up to contemporary great Floyd Mayweather, Jr., whose mega-fight against Juan Manuel Marquez is scheduled for September 19.

On-line voting at www.GreatestEver.com allows boxing fans from around the world to select the greatest boxer in each of the original eight weight classes, highlighted by the all-time pound-for-pound “Greatest Ever.”

The eight categories represent the eight original weight-class divisions: Strawweights are included in the Flyweight category; Super Middleweight in the Light Heavyweight division. Many fighters fought and won titles at a number of different weights. As far as possible they have been nominated in the division that they made their biggest impact. Fighters have not been nominated on the basis of whether they would beat another fighter in that division, though this is, of course, a consideration. More importantly is their overall record, who they fought at the time, as well as the impact they made on the boxing world, and indeed the world around them. Fight Engine web site driving MMA matches

LAS VEGAS (July 21, 2009) – The many advantages of being a member of the revolutionary www.fightengine.com were recently demonstrated when a Mexican mixed martial arts promoter went on line to the state-of-the-art website, researched its members and negotiated a heavyweight match between two registered fighters who have their videos and key information posted, 3-time World Grappling title-holder Jeff “Snowman” Monson and veteran Jimmy Ambriz.

PHILADELPHIA (JULY 20, 2009)—This past Friday, Yusaf “Mack Attack” Mack had one of the most fulfilling days of his career and he did not even have to step in the ring to accomplish that.

Mack (28-2-2, 17 KO’s and is currently ranked #6 by The WBC, #7 by the WBA, and #6 by the IBF) spent this past Friday morning and afternoon giving back to his hometown community of Philadelphia.

Mack started the morning out by visiting the Education Works Program at 44th and Girard that is located in Mack’s hometown neighborhood of West Philadelphia.

Education Works is a program that enriches the lives of children, youth, and families by providing educational programs and services in communities confronting high rates of poverty and other barriers to educational achievement.

There are 17 Education Works programs spread throughout the city

Mack gave the kids a confident speech that encouraged the kids to do well in school and telling them the importance of school and education.

“It’s great to talk to these kids and they know after seeing me with my belts that if they put their mind to anything they can achieve any goal they set for themselves”, said Mack

“This stop was extra special because these are kids in my own backyard and I hope that I can be an influence for these youngsters. Education Works is a terrific program and over the coming months, I want to visit all seventeen locations.”

After Mack was done chatting up with the kids he trekked down to Magee Rehabilitation Center.

Magee Rehabilitation Center is the oldest physical rehabilitation hospital in the region which specializes in treating spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke and orthopedic issues.

Mack posed for pictures with all of the patients and signed pictures in hopes of brightening up the day for these special need patients.

“These people are such an inspiration to me. They are the real fighters. To see what they have to go through really humbles me and it meant so much to me to be able to visit them and to see how receptive they were to me makes me want to train harder than ever because I want to be a bigger presence to these incredible men and woman and bring back the world Light Heavyweight championship”

Unbeaten featherweight Matt “Sharp Shooter” Remillard keeps pluggin’ along

MANCHESTER, Conn. (July 21, 2009) – WBC Youth and USNBC featherweight champion Matt “Sharp Shooter” Remillard is learning first-hand how the risk-and-reward theory in boxing can work against a fighter.

For the second time in a row, veteran Edel “Cuate” Ruiz (32-22-4, 23 KOs) pulled out of a scheduled bout against Remillard. Ruiz had done the same thing two months earlier in Maryland.

The 23-year-old Remillard (18-0, 10 KOs), fighting out of Manchester, Connecticut, put late replacement Tyler Ziolkowski (11-7) to sleep at the midway point of the opening round in their July 10th fight in Reno.

“I was a little frustrated the fight fell apart again,” Matt said. “It’s happened to me a lot. Most importantly, though, I got my opponent out of there early. I didn’t want it to go rounds because it would have looked bad for me. I was a professional, getting him out of there right away, and now we’ve moved on. I can only hope it (opponent pulling out) doesn’t happen again.

“I think a lot (available opponents) has to do with it being this weight class and the economy. I understand. Nobody wants to fight an undefeated fighter, unless they’re making a lot of money. As a pro fighter, I need to understand that those things are going to happen, maybe for a little while longer, but I feel that it’s all going to lead-up to the right fight.”

Remillard hopes to be back in action within two months, possibly headlining a show in Connecticut.

This week the Brute adidas studios will be absent me. I will be out of town and joining Chris and Randy will be wrestling enthusiast Bob Selby. Bob has co hosted TDR before and is a regular on the wrestling scene. Bob’s list of people he wanted to have on as guests was extensive but we boiled it down to the following.

Dan Wirnsberger- Head Coach of the Bison of Bucknell. Dan is a favorite on the show and has some exciting news to share as summer wears on and we head to fall.

Kerry McCoy- Head Coach of the Terps of Maryland joins us to discuss everything Maryland. He might have an opinion on our new national teams as well.

Chris Bono- Assist. Head Coach for the Cyclones of Iowa State. He has joined KJ in the midst of recruiting and scheduling. Maybe he can answer the burning questions of the wrestling community.

Joe Russell- As if J Robinson on the show last Saturday wasn’t enough we have the top MN assist to clarify the recruiting class.
