Choi right on song for Prizefighter!
The war of words before Prizefighter Super Featherweights on November 20 has begun – but “The Mongolian Warrior” Choi Tseveenpurev has decided to goad his fellow fighters through song!
Fans’ favourite Choi has posted a video on YouTube throwing the gauntlet down to the likes of British champion Gary Sykes, former England Commonwealth Games captain and Coronation Street actor Steve Bell with his unique take on some classic tracks.
The video can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-muSo3yZJrQ
The 39 year-old could challenge Manny Pacquiao to the mantle of boxing’s top singing star as he picks up his guitar in the video and goads Derry Matthews with a reminder of his comprehensive fifth round knockout of the Liverpudlian in Bolton in 2008 that saw Choi take his WBU title.
“I’m very happy to be in Prizefighter and I know I’ll win,” said Choi. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this and I’m fully focused on winning at York Hall.”
Joining Choi, Sykes, Bell and Matthews in the 15th edition of Barry Hearn’s eight-man, one night tournaments are European Lightweight title challenger Gary Buckland, Prizefighter Lightweights semi-finalist Gary McArthur, British and European challenger Scott Lawton and Brighton fighter Ben Murphy.
Tickets for Prizefighter Super Featherweights are available now at £35 (unreserved), £60 (ringside) and £100 (VIP) – call Matchroom Sport on 01277 359900.
