VERONA, NEW YORK (January 7, 2011)—On Saturday night January 29th at the beautiful Turning Stone Casino and Resort, an important heavyweight bout for the WBC Caribbean Heavyweight title. Mike Mollo and Manuel Quezada will battle it out for the right to not only win the coveted belt but take another step up the latter to gain a shot for the Heavyweight championship of the world.

Both guys chimed in from training camp to give their thoughts as the bout fast approaches.

Mike Mollo (20-3-1, 12 KO’s)-Oak Lawn, Illinois and training in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“I believe this is an even fight. I know that Quezada is a tough and durable guy and with what I bring, it should be a fan friendly fight. I know he fights at a nice pace but I am always picking things up in the gym.”

“I am a young thirty years old and I will be 110 % ready when my time comes. I believe one or two wins and I will be in the thick of things,” said Manuel Quezada (29-6, 18 KO’s-Wasco, California).

“I am very excited for this fight. I took some time off after the Arreola fight. I love this sport so much and I am motivated like never before”
“I know Mike is a tough guy and I think its going to be a grueling fight.”
“I just go in there and do my thing. I don’t think people take me serious but I can fight.”

“This is a good fight for both of us and the winner should get a good ranking.”

An exciting undercard has been assembled as in the eight round co-feature, Isaac Rodrigues (17-1, 13 KO’s) of Brazil will look to rebound from his first career loss when he takes on upset specialist Russell Jordan (15-8, 10 KO’s) of Rochester, NY in a Middleweight bout
In a ladies six round Super Featherweight bout, Amanda Serrano (7-0-1, 4 KO’s) of Brooklyn, NY takes on Ela Nunez (9-7-1, 2 KO’s) of Jamestown, NY in a rematch crowd pleasing draw that took place in 2009.

In a six round Welterweight bout, Stephen Scott (5-2) of New York fights Kenny Abril (11-3-1, 6 KO’s) of Rochester, NY
In a six round Middleweight bout, Ibahiem King (7-5, 2 KO’s) of West Palm, Beach, FL squares off with Latif Mundy (9-2, 4 KO’s) of Philadelphia, PA.

Undefeated Super Middleweight Andy Mejias (8-0, 4 KO’s) of Utica, NY will see action in a six round bout against Isaac Atencio (2-3-1, 2 KO’s) of Denver, CO.

Rounding out the card will be a four round Super Middleweight bout between Derrick Evans of Utica, NY making his pro debut against Steve Tyner (1-1, 1 KO) of Akron, Ohio.
