PFC to make television debut Friday
LEMOORE, Ca. — The Palace Fighting Championship will once again make history.
The PFC will make its television debut on Friday, Feb. 29 on Comcast SportsNet.
Comcast SportsNet will feature taped delayed fights from PFC 6 “No Retreat, No Surrender”, which was held on Jan. 19th at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino. The show is slated to be broadcast at 8 p.m. (PST).
“We are very excited about our broadcast deal with Comcast SportNet. SportsNet is committed to airing one original PFC broadcast per month, and an additional minimum of six replays during each month. This first show debuting on Friday, February 29th at 8 p.m. shows some great action. Additionally, we will have our own storefront on Comcast On Demand with an additional sixty minutes of original PFC content every month with never before seen fights, interviews, behind the scenes looks at the PFC and so much more,” PFC President Christian Printup said. “Our programming will air in over 4.7 million households and every SportsNet market from the Central San Joaquin Valley north to Klamath Falls/Medford, Oregon as well as Reno, Nevada. SportsNet wants to market the PFC programming as they do Sacramento Kings basketball and University of California football. It’s a very good deal for us at this point in our development.”
The first show is slated to feature fights between Fresno’s Casey Olson vs. Anaheim’s Scott Brommage; Russia’s Alex Serdykov vs. Hamilton, Mt’s Mike Gates; Oroville’s Shawn Bias vs. Oakdale’s Art Arciniega; and Lemoore’s Poppies Martinez vs. Atlanta’s Diego Saraiva.
Fans will get a first-hand shot at seeing what PFC World Title bouts are, as Martinez and Saraiva battle for the lightweight crown and Bias and Arciniega fight for the featherweight title.
“We are going to bring the PFC brand, our fighters and our Fight Club Meets Night Club atmosphere and deliver it into over four million living rooms. From a business standpoint it helps us tremendously in terms of sponsors and after market opportunities. It helps the fighters who are featured on the broadcasts in terms of their sponsorship revenue and it’s great because it means more MMA on basic cable for fans of the sport,” Printup said.
“As far as the importance of this deal, there are obviously some measurables that we will be looking at, there are finite objectives, goals and benefits as far as how we can maximize this exposure and the reach of the broadcasts. Beyond that for the sport of mixed martial arts and the PFC because it gives fans another channel to find exciting MMA action without having to purchase Pay Per View. It also helps us determine which markets may be most responsive to live PFC shows when we decide to travel the event outside of Lemoore again.”
In March four more fights will be featured from PFC 6 — Sacramento’s Joseph Benavides vs. Oregon’s Jason Georgiana; Lemoore’s Andrew Martinez vs. Taft’s Doug Hunt; Porterville’s Shawn Klarcyk vs. Rolando Velasquez and Sacrament’s Brad Imes vs. Coarsgold’s Anthony Ruiz. The second installment of PFC on Comcast SportNet is expected to air the week of March 24th-March 30th and details on that broadcast will be available soon.
