On the undercard of last Friday night’s ESPN2 Friday Night Fights broadcast from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, super featherweight dynamo Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (11-0, 8 KOs), scored a dominating TKO victory over James Hope at 2:04 of the fourth round.
Not content to sit on his laurels, Barthelemy will be back on the next FNF broadcast from the Cosmopolitan, this time on the deck of the beautiful Boulevard Pool on April 29.
“Rances put on the type of power punching clinic that people love to watch last Friday, so by popular demand, we’re bringing him back in April,” said Barthelemy’s promoter, Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing.
Barthelemy’s appearance will be in support of the Victor Cayo vs. Tim Coleman IBF elimination fight that will serve as the night’s main event.
“Rances is a monster for this weight class,” said Margules about his 24-year-old Cuban slugger who stands an imposing 5′ 11″. “He’s got amazing power for his thin frame and even though Hope was game for a fight, he was hurt by nearly every shot Rances landed.”
Margules does admit to one problem with promoting Barthelemy. “It’s not easy finding a super featherweight willing to get in there with him. And now we’ve got to try and find one that didn’t see the tape of what happened to James Hope!”
