(Tampa, FL) – The Cauliflower Alley Club, celebrating over 45 years of existence as a non-profit dedicated to the world of professional wrestling, honored one of its own in its recent newsletter.
Shannon Rose, nationally known Professional Ring Announcer, EA Sports MMA Video Game Announcer, Hollywood Publicist and Hollywood Reporter, was bestowed the honor.
The CAC acknowledged Rose for all he’s done in professional wrestling.
“The CAC is one of the most venerable, well-respected organizations out there that is friendly to professional wrestling,” Rose said. “To be honored by them was truly humbling.”
Rose started his career in pro wrestling at the age of 12 and for the next two decades-plus he worked for everyone from ECW to the NWA.
Gordon Solie and Dusty Rhodes gave Rose his start as a ring announcer and Rose has worked with such wrestling stars as Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam, and Mick Foley.
Rose is also owner of the National PR firm to the stars, Eclectic Media Productions.
The CAC started in the mid-1960s at the Baron’s Castle Buffet Restaurant in Los Angeles, with weekly get-togethers comprised of Mike Mazurki and Al Baffert’s wrestling and movie friends, plus promoter George Parnassus’ boxing friends. Mazurki owned the restaurant, which was in the Los Angeles Elks Club building. Today CAC has grown to a nationally known and respected organization in Professional Wrestling.
Rose said that the CAC honor was one of the highlights of his long and storied career in professional wrestling.
“I’m very grateful for what they (CAC) did,” he said
