Soboba Casino teams up with GC to bring intense action to fight fans

Apple Valley, CA (USA): Tedd Williams‘ Gladiator Challenge returns to Soboba Casino with “Hostile!” The event will take place Friday, April 22^nd, and will feature a main event of former KOTC Heavyweight Champion Tony “Kryptonite” Lopez (23-6) taking on current Gladiator Challenge Heavyweight Champion Ruben “Warpath” Villareal (19-19-3) for the GC Super Fight title, as well as a GC Bantamweight Championship match between Greg “The Smooth” Guzman (9-5) and Rolando Perez (5-4-1). In addition, Strikeforce veteran Robbie Peralta (13-3) will lock horns with Cody Bollinger (9-2) in a battle of tough up-and-comers.

The “Kryptonite”-“Warpath” bout is sure to be a knockdown, drag-out scrap that will electrify fight fans in attendance at “Hostile.” Both are known for their hard-hitting strikes and penchant for finishing opponents. Lopez holds an astonishing number of wins over UFC veterans, with his list of victims of Kyle Kingsbury, Joey Beltran (twice), Wes “The Soldier” Combs, Jason “The Punisher” Lambert, Brad Morris, and Darrill Schoonover. Now, he’ll look to add “Warpath” to his ledger.

“Warpath,” the holder of the GC Native American Heavyweight titles, Villareal snatched the vacant GC Heavyweight strap after a battle with Wes Combs via unanimous decision at “Undisputed” last year. “Warpath” has faced big-name MMA fighters such as UFC/Strikeforce veterans Paul Buentello and Mike Whitehead, former PRIDE fighters Dan Bobish and Travis Wiuff, UFC veteran Justin McCully, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ricco Rodriguez, current Strikeforce star Antonio Silva, and fight legends Dan “The Beast” Severn, Don “The Predator” Frye, and Bas Rutten. Next up for him is “Kryptonite.”

In addition, “Hostile” will feature super-talented Melvin Costa (7-2), who’s looking to rebound from only his second career loss, and has finished all seven of his victims via KO/TKO, as well as Richard Schiller (7-1-1).
