VENDETTA FIGHT GEAR PROFILE

By: Rich Bergeron

Chris Jeffcoat and Nick O’Connor are the brains and muscle behind Vendetta Fight gear, and the two Massachusetts natives have brought a fresh outlook to the fight gear scene. The company sponsors Hermes Franca and Jorge Rivera in addition to providing ring card girls for events and producing high quality men’s and women’s apparel.

Both were in attendance at Untamed 10, where they provided 60 free T-shirt to screaming fans. Both sported bright green hair for the event, though it was more than their appearance that set them apart from the other clothing companies with tables full of products to sell. They sell T-shirts, sweat shorts, and women’s underwear among a host of other products. They even have fight shorts, gloves, and rash guards on order.

Jeffcoat explained that they are approaching a year of experience supporting the sport of MMA. “We started small with the WFL,” he said. “But, we’ve been watching MMA for years, and I’ve done some training, too. We’re both devoted to it.”

The ultimate goal for the company is to support the sport and the professional and local fighters out there trying to make a name for themselves. “We’re new and here with exciting products,” said Jeffcoat.

As for what sets them apart from other companies, O’Connor said it is their motivation. “We have an interest and involvement in the sport that other companies don’t have,” he said.

Jeffcoat went on to profess that he’s not in it just to make money. “We’ve been following the sport for years, and we put a lot into it,” he said. “We don’t just line up clothes to sell at these events. We put together the fight card, we bring the ring girls, and we do it because we like it.”

They both flew out to Las Vegas for UFC 67 with Jorge Rivera and Boston MMA Pro Kenny Florian. They watch every UFC and attend every local and regional event they can.

“We’ve been friends since high school,” said O’Connor.

Jeffcoat is impressed with how far the sport has come and how the UFC has progressed. “It’s a great sport, and it brings a lot of professional organizations and people together,” he said. “I really think Dana White is a marketing genius. He’s showing the public the skill it really takes to be a fighter. If you watch all the old reels of how the UFC used to be you can see the skill change that’s taken place.”

Both promise that they will be at every local event in the New England area and even in New York in due time. They have also already put the wheels in motion for their next Vegas visit.
