Bob Steenlage graduated in 1962 in Britt, Iowa. He was Iowa’s first Four-Time State Wrestling Champion with The next four timer following some 17 years later. Bob knows wrestling has complimented his life and will enjoy the 50th anniversary of his accomplishment in 2012.

Bob will be appearing at the Frank Gotch Open House in Humboldt, Iowa,Thursday, May 19th from 5:00 –9:00 PM to help raise funds for the new 8ft tall statue of Gotch that will be erected in Bicknell park in Humboldt. Along with Bob, a group of

Frank Gotch was largely responsible for making wrestling popular in Iowa and some would say that He was the Mohammad Ali of wrestling. In 1921, President Teddy Roosevelt asked him wrestle a Japanese athlete when the Ambassador from Japan was at the White House. He accepted the offer and the match took place in the East Room of the White House. Needless-to-say, Frank Gotch won the match and the legend became part of the script when you a toured the White House until they stopped a few years ago.

Be a part of history, meet the greats at the Frank Gotch Open house, May 19th from 5 to 9:00 PM at the Rustix restaurant in Humboldt, Iowa.
