ESPN Radio 1100’s 24 Hour radiothon in Las Vegas offers a chance to bid for the right to co-host an hour of radio with a sports celebrity, and this year Hallf of Famer Mike Tyson and Boxing legend Bernard Hopkins are two of those celebrities. To bid, go to www.werlv.com .
All proceeds from the event go to benefit The Caring Place, a facility that provides free services to ease the journey of those touched by Cancer. The Las Vegas facility was co-founded by Connie Bernstein, wife of Showtime Boxing Broadcaster Al Bernstein. For more information, go to www.thecaringplacenv.org .
As always, the event will be held at The Palms Hotel and Resort. Other sports personalities people can bid to co-host with include: Broadcasting icon Brent Musburger, Football Coach Jim Fassel, MMA legend Randy Couture, basketball star Larry Johnson, and Showtime Network’s Mixed Martial Arts announcers, Mauro Ranallo, Pat Miletich and Stephen Quadros.
Al Bernstein, who has hosted the event for five years, but this year will be in London calling a boxing match, said, “this event is so much fun. It’s a great opportunity for people to spend an hour on the radio interviewing their favorites. And the money donated helps The Caring Place provide free services to those touched by Cancer. I see first hand how this facility makes people’s lives better every day.”
