“Razor” Razak Al-Hassan (11-3) joins “Rabble Rousin'” Rich Bergeron in our latest podcast. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN! Razak is a submission specialist who started off his MMA career with seven straight wins, with five coming via submission. His reputation as a tapout authority was cemented, and the UFC® came calling. In “Razor’s” first bout with the promotion, he locked horns with Steve Cantwell at “UFC®: Fight For The Troops” in North Carolina. Cantwell caught the Roufusport fighter in an armbar late in the 1st round, but the tough Ghanaian competitor refused to tap out, despite the fact that his arm dislocated at the elbow. After recovering from the injury, Al-Hassan next faced Kyle Kingsbury at UFC® 104. A back-and-forth battle ensued. In the end, Kingsbury had his hand raised in a somewhat controversial decision loss for “Razor.” Though Al-Hassan had suffered losses in both his fights with the UFC®, and was released as a result, the young fighter had proved his could compete with top fighters. After he left the promotion, “Razor” went on a tear, knocking out or submitting four straight opponents, including another UFC® veteran Sherman Pendergarst. In his latest fight, Al-Hassan lost a hotly-contested and controversial decision to Dwayne Lewis at a Maximum Fighting Championships event. Now looking to rebound, “Razor” will face arguably the toughest test of his career in Houston “The Assassin” Alexander at “MMA Fight Pit: Genesis” on Saturday, August 13, 2011.
