(August 23, 2011) – Two years in the making, The Final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic between World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight championAndre Ward and his World Boxing Council (WBC) counterpart Carl Froch is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 29 from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. The winner of the high stakes 12-rounder will claim super middleweight supremacy, both world championship belts, The Ring magazine championship and the coveted Super Six World Boxing Classic Cup.

The Finalists of the inaugural Super Six World Boxing Classic, Andre Ward and Carl Froch each fought three bouts against different opponents in the field in the points-based Group Stage of competition. Following the Group Stage, the top four fighters advanced to the single-elimination Semifinals. Ward was ranked No. 1 in points with 6; Froch in second place with 4. Ward defeated Germany’s Arthur Abraham (No. 4) and Froch defeated Glen Johnson (No. 3) in the Super Six Semifinals in the spring to advance to The Final. |
