Team Puerto Rico’s undefeated featherweight Luis “Orlandito” del Valle (13-0, 10 KO’s) weighed in at a ready 124 lbs. for his fight tomorrow (Saturday, September 3) at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, against Kenyan boxer Anthony Napunyi (14-10, 7 KO’s).
The pair will meet in a 10-round bout as part of the undercard for the “Battle in Biloxi” HBO-televised IBF Welterweight championship fight between Jan Zaveck and Andre Berto.
“I’m feeling great. I weighed in at 124 and he (Napunyi) weighed in at 126.5, but it doesn’t matter. No excuses. I’m ready.”
Relaxed and confident, Del Valle says despite his opponent’s relentless style, he is in for a good night.
“He puts pressure but I’m ready to counter whatever he brings. My trainer Raymond Rivera makes sure I get ready for all my fights. I don’t like to predict knockouts, but I continue to improve with very fight, so I know I will win in a big way. We’ll see what he has in the early rounds and once my hands start landing, I will either knock him out or go eight rounds and win big on the scorecards.”
