Severin Walsh 20 minutes outside of Portland Oregon is the campus of a small private University called Pacific. The Head Coach is a man who has served at Dana College, St. Cloud State and William Penn. Severin Walsh is now in his 4th season at the helm of the Boxer’s program and looks forward to the beginning of the new season. Nick Mitchell The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Des Moines has been awarded the 2012 NAIA Wresting Championships. Grand View University will serve as the local host of the event, working in conjunction with Des Moines Area Sports Commission, which will take place March 1-3, 2012, at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Approximately 320 athletes from around the country will compete and 10 individual national champions will be crowned. Grand View started its wrestling program in 2008 and is one of the top wrestling programs in the nation. Shawn Charles TEMPE — Travis Pascoe, a former All-American and four-time NCAA qualifier for the University of Nebraska, has joined the Arizona State University wrestling program’s coach staff as an assistant coach, third-year Head Coach Shawn Charles announced today. Heath Grimm Upper Iowa University’s Carl Broghammer (Manchester, Iowa), a redshirt freshman wrestler, was named the top 197-pound rookie at all levels by the Amateur Wrestling News. The All-Rookie teams were announced in the May issue of the magazine. Broghammer was just one of four Division II wrestlers among the publication’s 60 honorees and the only Division II grappler on the first team. Following the announcement, Coach Heath Grimm said, “This recognition doesn’t surprise me after turning in such an outstanding freshman campaign.
