HOBOKEN, New Jersey (September 15, 2011) — FIGHT NOW TV TM — America’s only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel – today announced it has added the long running interview series, In This Corner, to its weekly programming roster.
Hosted by popular boxing personality James “Smitty” Smith, In This Corner brings viewers up close and personal interviews with some of the greatest fighters in boxing history, as well as key contributors to the sweet science and, of course, today’s biggest stars of the squared circle.
Who better to lead off the series debut of In This Corner on FIGHT NOW TV than Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who host James Smith went one-on-one with, in and out of the ring. “Smitty” bravely enters the ring with his guests to have them demonstrate the skills that made them champions.
Additional shows from In This Corner set to air on FIGHT NOW TV feature a Who’s Who of the boxing, ranging from Joe Frazier to Manny Pacquiao, Ray Leonard to Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins, Joe Calzaghe, Oscar De La Hoya, Evander Holyfield, Angelo Dundee, Emanuel Steward and many more.
“This is a series that no boxing fan should miss,” said Mike Garrow GM and co-founder of FIGHT NOW TV. “Smitty does a remarkable job at getting some of boxing’s greatest to let their ‘guard down,’ giving viewers an insight to them that truly is unique to In This Corner. We are happy to welcome the series to the channel.”
“We are thrilled to be on FIGHT NOW TV,” noted Smith. “A 24-hour television channel dedicated to combat sports is long overdue. It’s such a natural fit for a series such as ours, allowing boxing fans to see many of their favorite fighters on our show, on a weekly basis. It also reaches out to other types of fight fans who may not have been exposed to these fascinating life stories and in ring demonstrations that In This Corner delivers every time out.”
In this Corner is also sponsored by Tecate, a major contributor to boxing and this weekend’s mega event, “Star Power,” featuring Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz, live Saturday (Sept. 17) on PPV.
FIGHT NOW TV is available on Cablevision channel 464 as part of the iO Sports & Entertainment Pak!
FIGHT NOW TV will also be airing the undercard for this Saturday’s event “Star Power,” beginning LIVE at 7 PM/ET.
In This Corner, featuring Floyd Mayweather, will debut on FIGHT NOW TV tomorrow night (Friday, Sept. 16 at 5 PM/ET), prior to the official weigh-in for “Star Power: Mayweather vs. Ortiz,” which will also be aired Live on FIGHT NOW TV beginning at 5:30 PM/ET.
