Malta Boxing Commission President Alexander Zammit today announced that Ringside Boxing have been appointed as the official gloves supplier for professional boxing events in the Republic of Malta.

On making the announcement Mr Zammit said, “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Ringside Boxing as the official glove supplier for both Championship and non-Championship professional boxing contests in Malta.

We are particularly pleased to have Ringside Boxing on board, as not only is their boxing equipment first class but the Championship gloves we have chosen exceeded our expectations in both build quality and performance.

We tested them thoroughly, technically and under simulated competition conditions, and they passed with flying colours.

Our competitions committee would like to thank Johnny Eames, the trainers and professional boxers at the TRAD TKO Gym in London who undertook many of the practical tests of the gloves on our behalf.”

Ringside Boxing’s MD David Hill then added, “We are proud to be the official gloves supplier for the Malta Boxing Commission and we look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship with them.

Malta always has had a large boxing contingent and now with the introduction of sanctioned professional boxing I am sure will become an important, integral part of the World professional boxing community.

The gloves, we will be supplying for boxing events in Malta, are our very latest design of Championship glove. These are the newest and best Championship glove in our range.

They’re made with the highest grade cowhide, they have a new molding inside to provide a tighter fit on the hand and you do not have to put too much effort in to make a fist.

These are purpose made 8oz and 10oz Championship gloves that everybody that’s tried them love. Top fighters, Frankie Gavin, Michael Grant, Stephen Smith, Jamie Cox etc.; they all love them and I am sure that the Malta Boxing Commission and the fighters competing in Malta will do as well.”

Mr Hill then hinted of further business developments within the Republic of Malta, when he said. “We are looking to develop our relationship with the Malta Boxing Commission and Boxing in Malta further. To this end we will shortly begin talks with various interested parties here, with a view to them becoming licensee’s for the Ringside brand of boxing equipment.”
