Harvard Wrestling Releases 2011-12 Schedule

The 2011-12 Harvard wrestling schedule features four home dates in the MAC and trips to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, Midlands Championships and Lonestar Duals (Gil Talbot).Complete Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jay Weiss, the David G. Bunning ‘88 Head Coach of Harvard Wrestling, has announced the team’s 2011-12 schedule which features trips to three of the nation’s premier tournaments as well as four home duals inside the Malkin Athletic Center.

The Crimson will open its season Nov. 13 at the Binghamton Open and will compete at the Keystone Classic (Nov. 20) the following the weekend. Harvard will then head out west for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 2-3) where Corey Jantzen and Walter Peppelmanplaced second and fourth, respectively, in 2010.

The Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30) awaits Harvard following the holiday break and the Crimson will open its dual meet schedule Jan. 6 at Rutgers. Harvard will split up for a pair of duals at Millersville and Franklin & Marshall Jan. 7 before reconvening in Texas for the Lonestar Duals Jan. 14.

The Crimson travel to New York Jan. 20 for a meeting with Cornell and will open its home slate Jan. 28 versus Army at the MAC. Both Penn and Princeton will visit Cambridge on Feb. 4 and the following weekend Harvard travels to Brown for a pair of duals against the Bears and Boston (Feb. 11).

Harvard will conclude its home schedule Feb. 12 against Lehigh and closes out the regular season Feb. 18 at Columbia.

The EIWA Championships will be held March 3-4 on the campus of Princeton University. Harvard placed 10th at last year’s event with five Crimson earning a spot on the podium.  The 2012 NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 15-17 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Peppelman placed eighth at the 2011 NCAA Championships to became the 25th All-American in program history. Harvard has earned at least one All-America honor in each of the last six years and has crowned 17 All-American’s under Weiss.
