NEW YORK (Oct. 6, 2011) –  Last May 13 – Friday the 13th – in an entertaining main event on ShoBox: The New Generation onSHOWTIME®Sharif  “The Lion” Bogere survived a cut over the left eye and an inspired performance by upset-minded underdog Raymundo Beltran to capture a bloody, close, crowd-pleasing 10-round decision at Primm, Nev.

In anticipation of what will be an excellent scrap this Friday on ShoBox (11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast) between the Ugandan-born Bogere (20-0, 12 KOs) of Las Vegas and fellow unbeaten Francisco Contreras (16-0, 13 KOs) of Irvington, N.J., by way of Dominican Republic, the Bogere-Beltran fight will be available for viewing in its entirety at sports.sho.com beginning today/Thursday, Oct. 6.

Bogere took a hard-fought, unanimous nod over Beltran by the scores of 96-94 twice and 97-93, but some felt it could have gone either way. SHOWTIME announcers Curt Menefee and Steve Farhood both scored it a draw.

In Friday’s ShoBox co-feature at Texas Station Gambling Hall & Casino in Las Vegas, Jermell Charlo (15-0, 7 KOs) of Houston risks his unblemished record against Francisco Santana (12-2-1, 6 KOs) of Santa Barbara, Calif., in an eight-round junior middleweight bout.
