TOTOWA, N.J. (October 11, 2011) – A hand injury suffered during training camp has forced world-rated super bantamweight Chris Avalos(19-1, 15 KOs) to withdraw from his scheduled fight Saturday night in Panama.
The 21-year-old Avalos, who is the WBO Inter-Continental champion, was slated to face Nehomar Cermeno at Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City. Avalos is rated among the top 12 contenders in all four major governing organizations (WBO #4, WBA #7, IBF #10 and WBC #12).
