GUAYNABO, PUERTO RICO (Oct. 13, 2011) – Hot boxing prospects Thomas Dulorme (12-0, 10KO’s) and Kenny Galarza (15-1, 14KO’s) made pre-weight, 156 and 149 pounds, respectively, equivalent to five-percent above the required weight by the Professional Boxing Commission (CBPPR) in the latter weighing for pre-stellar fights in Panama, as part of XXIV KO Drugs Festival on Saturday night (October 22) at Arena Roberto Duran, organized by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

Dulorme tipped the scale at 151 ½, Galarza at 149 1/2 pounds, and both looked in good physical condition. Dulorme is a welterweight, Galaza a super lightweight. They weighed-in a day earlier than required and yet the fighters made weight.

Thomas will make the first defense of his NABA title against hard-hitting Charlie Jose Navarro (20-4, 15KO’s) in a 10-round bout, while Galarza faces Johan Perez (13-0-1, 10KO’s) for the WBA Fedelatin title in a 10 round fight.

In his last fight, Dulorme completely dominated former world champion DeMarcus Corley for 10 rounds in a bout televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights. Thomas is now ranked # 10 by the WBA in the welterweight division.

“We have been working hard for about eight weeks and this is the result of that work,” said Dulorme, who is promoted by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment. “This work has been the best preparation in my career. I feel much better, with great force and speed.”

In his last fight, Galarza showed his bravery against a stronger opponent, Vegabajeño Irving Garcia, who won a split decision in a bout televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

“I’m in good shape and I know I’ll make a good fight,” said Galarza, a native of Juana Diaz. “Perez is an excellent fighter and for that reason I must do my best to achieve victory.”

After the fighters made the pre-weights, members of Team Puerto Rico Boxing entertained the audience with their skills. Galarza, and Dulorme are part of the boxing team, Team Puerto Rico. This squad was developed by the companies of promoters Gary Shaw Productions, DiBella Entertainment and Universal Promotions, in order to obtain the finest and largest group of Puerto Rican fighters at the moment.
