Owatonna, MN- August 29, 2008- Several top MMA promotion companies and personalities have joined forces to produce Caged Warrior Combat “THE BEGINNING” on September 6, 2008 at the 5,000 seat Four Seasons Center. Wicked Promotions & Opus Promotions will deliver 10 professional MMA bouts. Feature events include some of the sports most popular competitors in and around the Midwest. Attendees can also meet and greet MMA superstars current WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie “Showtime” Varner, UFC, PRIDE, & IFL Veteran Travis “Diesel” Wiuff & Elite XC Veteran Brett “The Grimm” Rogers.

Favorite fighters on the regional MMA circuit include Josh Janousek (Mankato), Zach Martinson (Duluth), Shane Dezee (Burnsville), Sajin Kwok (Minneapolis), Zack Strand (Owatonna), Kirk Nielsen (Owatonna), Justin Reaume (Mankato), Josh Blue (Duluth), Adam Michal (Mankato), Joe Rico (St. Paul).

As well as being the first MMA event held at Four Seasons Center Caged Warrior Combat “The Beginning” one could say that the Midwest in many ways is the heart of MMA country. “We’re grateful the sport has grown into one of Minnesota’s largest sports and proud the eyes of the world will be on our event” stated Adam Ottmar, Founder of Opus Promotions promoter.

MMA is the world’s fastest growing professional sport. It continues to attract larger crowds, more televised broadcasts, and has added larger advertisers and sponsors. The core MMA audience is the highly sought after 18-34 year old demographic. Caged Warrior Combat “The Beginning” is being promoted heavily to college students via web marketing, club promotions, and street teams.
