The fight for the WBO interim title at supermiddle between Karoly Balzsay and Denis Inkin set for UniversumĀ“s big show in Hamburg September 27 is postponed after Balzsay was cut in sparring. The cut didnĀ“t require stitches but is still bad enough to force a postponement of the fight.
The WBA have called for purse bids for the all German mega fight at middleweight between WBA ruler Felix Sturm, promoted by Universum, and mandatory challenger Sebastian Sylvester, promoted by Sauerland Event. The deadline is September 15. The day after the IBF stage purse bids for Wladimir Klitscko vs Alexander Povetkin, should Sauerland Event win they might look to promote the fight in Moscow.
K 2 East promotes a show named “Tiger Boxing” September 27 in Kiev, Ukraine. IBF Youth middleweight champ Maksim Bursak headlines and face Esteban Waldemar Ponce from Argentina.
Superheavyweight Vyacheslav Glazkov, who won a bronze medal in the Bejing Olympics, might turn pro with K 2 East Promotions
WBO Latin cruiser champ Ali Ismailov defends the title October 4 in Viborg, Russia. At middle prospect Guenady Martirosyan takes on Hungarian Attila Kovacs, the former IBO titlist. Jr light Sherzod Nazarov is in against Portugese Joao Bento.
Just for the record: the next professional boxing, confirmed and on with permission from the Swedish Federation, in Sweden takes place December 6 in Tidaholm with heavyweight Roddy Benjaminsson and jr middle Kamran Kabinejad headlining.
