Wiking Box Team promotes a show in Greifswald / Wusterhusen in the North of Germany September 27. In the mainevent Thomas Troelenberg square off against Steve Klockow in a German titlefight at middleweight. On the undercard heavyweight Konstantin Airich returns after the loss to Danny Williams and face Czech Vaclav Cihlar.
Sauerland Event have moved Mikkel Kessler vs Danilo Haussler from Duesseldorf to Oldenburg (Oldenburg) but the date remains October 25. Former EBU bantam champ, now at superbantam, Simone Maludrottu fights Frenchman Jean Marie Codet September 27 in Guspini, Italy. Universum take it very easy with the marketing of the WBC eliminator between Vladimir Virchis and Juan Carlos Gomez set for September 27 in Hamburg. Virchis-Gomez is the probably the best matchup of what shapes up as an exellent night of boxing but the problems between Gomez´s current promoter Arena and Universum still lingers.
Robert Roselia and Affif Belgecham clash in the semifinal of the Grand Tornoi at the Cirque d´Hiver in Paris October 2. The winner in this fight will square off against Hassan N´Dam N´Jikam, who knocked out Woilid Guarras in the fifth Thursday night also in Paris.
Late news: Jr middle Ivan Gontsa from Moldova but with a Russian license tested positive for an illegal substance in the EBU titlefight against Zauerbek Baysangurov in July in Germany. Gontsa is suspended by the EBU:
Slovenian welter Jan Zaveck is mandatory challenger for EBU champ Rafael Jackiewicz but might fight an IBF eliminator against South African Isaac Hlatswayo.
EBU jr light champ Sergey Gulyakevich will fight a non-title ten-rounder October 7 in Minsk. Gulyakevich takes on Georgian Beka Sadjaia. There is still no date or site for the defence against Vitaly Tajbert were Spotlight Boxing won the pursebids.
EBU superbantam champ Rendall Munroe will defend the title against Italian Fabrizio Trotta November 22 in Nottingham.
Alex Kabore and Rafael Tirado Mendoza clash for the vacant WBA Pan-African superbantam title October 31 in Ouagadougo in Burkina Faso.
Ukrainian stars Vyacheslav Senchenko, Vladimir Kravets, Oleg Yefimovich and Stas Kashtanov are in Valence, France, for a two week training camp under Nicolas Riffard and José Berrido. Training will continue back home in Donetsk with title fights (EBU and EE-EU) lined up for a show November 29.
French amateur stars turning pro:
Jerome Thomas, silver at flyweight in the 2004 Olympics, will turn pro early 2009. Thomas have signed with EuroProm, headed by Gerard Teysseron. Jerome will close out his amateur career with the military world championships in November.
Featherweight Khedafi Djelkir, silver in the 2008 Olympic, is close to a deal with AMI Production headed by Míchel Acaries.
Redouane Asloum, brother of WBA lightfly champ Brahim, have signed with the company his brother runs, and will make his prodebut in November.
