Robert Guerrero: I’M THE ONLY OPTION FOR FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR.

Former champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero continues to push for a 2012 showdown with WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.  Guerrero is currently rehabbing a shoulder injury and ready to get back in the ring as soon as possible. Mayweather already has a scheduled date of May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but no opponent has been finalized.

Golden Boy Promotions is attempting to make a mega-fight between Mayweather and WBO welterweight champion Pacquiao, but the fight doesn’t appear to be on the table, as of yet, with Pacquiao’s promoter, Top Rank, reportedly sending a letter to Golden Boy to express their disinterest in making the fight.

Several alternatives options are being discussed to replace Pacquiao, Guerrero believes he’s done more than enough to become the frontrunner for a shot at Mayweather’s title – if Golden Boy is unable to secure Pacquiao.  Continue Reading…
