Oscar De La Hoya made his final stop in East Los Angeles under the arch on Whittier Blvd. and Arizona Ave. on Tuesday. The six-day city tour went from New York, Chicago, Houston, San Antonio to San Francisco and Los Angeles.

De La Hoya [39-5, 30 KO’s] will face Manny Pacquiao [47-3-2, 35 KO’s] of the Philipines who is currently the pound for pound champion. Huge crowds attended their press conferences through the tour but the crowd in East Los Angeles was Oscar De La Hoya’s favorite crowd because he was born and raised in East Los Angeles.

“I am so honor and proud to finally come home; I grew up just a few blocks from here.” Oscar told the crowd, “I will always have East Los Angeles in my heart; I will take East Los Angeles to my grave”

“On December 6 it will be a fun fight, a great fight. I know Manny Pacquiao is the best pound per pound in the world and I have a lot of respect for him and everyone will win on fight night,” Oscar De La Hoya said.

“Everyone has the right to dream and only God knows who will be the winner on this fight on December 6th.” Manny Pacquiao said,” I know I will be ready; come December 6th.”

Before De La Hoya and Pacquiao were to face off, Oscar announced to the public that a local restaurant name King Taco will be serving free tacos for two hours to everyone who attended the event, paid for by Oscar.

While the over 300 people waited for De La Hoya and Pacquiao to show up, they were treated to live entertainment. A Mariachi band played followed by a Spanish Mexican band. Piolin, a local Spanish talk radio host and George Lopez, comedian were present humoring the crowd. There was a section where low rider automobiles were parked. Full Throttle Energy Drinks were free to everyone, and several vendors had items to hand out to the public. The Tecate Girls were at hand taking photos with boxing fans.

George Lopez was the master of ceremony and everyone had their laughs.

The fight is being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, presented by Tequila Cazadores, Tecate beer, and HBO Pay Per View.
