Horseshoe Casino Outside of Chicago

Undefeated heavyweight Dave “Pee Wee” Herman (11-0), of Bloomington, Ind., will be opposed by Kerry “Meat Truck” Schall (21-10), of Cincinnati, Ohio, in the main event on ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series tomorrow/Friday, Oct. 10, live on SHOWTIME (11 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast) at the Horseshoe Casino outside Chicago.

ShoXC, a presentation of Los Angeles-based ProElite, Inc.’s live fight division, EliteXC, showcases young, talented fighters in tough matchups. A springboard for the future stars and champions of EliteXC, ShoXC is patterned after the SHOWTIME boxing series ShoBox: The New Generation.

Tickets, starting at $40, are on sale. Doors open at 7 p.m. The first live fight is at 8 p.m.

In the other SHOWTIME fights: Mamed Khalidov (17-3-1) of Olsztyn, Poland, meets Jason Guida (17-17) of Schaumburg, Ill., at 205 pounds; Anthony “The Recipe’’ Lapsley (13-3) of Fort Wayne, Ind., faces Mike Stumpf (10-1) of Crystal Lake, Ill., at 170 pounds; Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko (29-5) of Omsk, Russia, throws down with Robert “Bubba” McDaniel (12-4) of Wichita Falls, Tex., at 185 pounds; and Lyle “Fancy Pants’’ Beerbohm (7-0) of Spokane, Wash., takes on Brazil’s Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira (2-0) in a battle of unbeaten 160-pounders.

The scheduled 11 fights on EliteXC’s third fight card in 15 days – the others came Oct. 4 on the CBS Television Network and Sept. 26 on SHOWTIME — are scheduled for three, 5-minute rounds.

What the SHOWTIME fighters had to say Thursday:

DAVE “PEE WEE’’ HERMAN

“Yes, I am still training alone and, no, I’m not really worried about joining a camp or team although I went and trained for a week in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. I worked on striking and how to block a punch … without using my face. I sparred with Frank Mir. That was fun.

“I don’t really think about a gameplan before a fight. Whatever happens is going to depend on what he does. I’d like to put him away in the first round in case I get tired.

“I’m willing to fight Brett Rogers on anyone.’’

KERRY SCHALL
“I’ve reached this gate-keeper status where they put guys up against me that, if they can get by me, then they can go on. They are legit then.

“I’ve got nothing to lose. I’m in great shape right now and I can put it on. If I win, people will look at me and say, hey, the old guy still has it.”

MAMED KHALIDOV

“I am a very unorthodox fighter who is always trying to add new twists. I guess roundhouse up-kicks are my specialty.

“I get a lot of exposure fighting on television in Poland, but nothing like this. I’m really looking forward to making new fans. I’ve been fighting at middleweight so he may be physically stronger, but I don’t think it is an issue. I’m confident.’’

JASON GUIDA
“I’m an in-your-face intense fighter that can dominate any aspect of the game.

(Referring to not making weight in the past) – “I know what I’m capable of and I’ve changed my diet. I know what I need to do. I got lazy; the training was there but I just wasn’t disciplined or focused and I wasn’t mentally there. I am now.

“No question, this is the most important fight of my career.”

ANTHONY LAPSLEY

“Stumpf is a pretty tough guy from what I’ve seen and heard. He’s a good striker and good on the ground. But I come to fight my fight, not his.

“I really only really I have one loss. I got ripped off in the other two. (Drew) Fickett is the only guy who really beat me and I give him credit for that.

“I’m looking forward to showing people that I am an exciting fighter with no quit in me. I fight hard, train hard. I’m in good shape and I’m here to bring it.

“I’m a ground fighter but the key is to stay on my feet. I want to get it over with in the first or second. Whether it’s a recipe or formula, I add an ingredient every fight.

“I want to fight EliteXC champion Jake Shields, but whoever is in the way, I’ll take them first.’’

MIKE STUMPF

“I’m very excited to get this opportunity and definitely looking to set the pace early. I want to finish this fight; there’s no reason to go through any feeling out process.

“I’ll know in the first 30 seconds what to do – once I monitor and gauge his leg kicks – and time them.’’

ALEXANDER SHLEMENKO:

“I love America. It’s clean and the people are friendly. My only drawback is I don’t speak the language.

“I know almost nothing my opponent except that he is more a wrestler than a striker, so I will try to avoid the take down. I’m ready to fight on the ground if that’s where it goes, but will try and keep it standing. I have fought a southpaw only once before.

“I would like to win by beautiful knockout in the first round, and that is my plan for this fight. My goal is to win any way, but I want the audience to like me and remember me. I want to make an impression.’’

“BUBBA’’ MCDANEIL

“It’s hard to say what the victory over Kala Kolohe Hose did for my confidence, but I will find out Friday if it was a fluke or a legitimate step up. But, for sure, this is an exciting opportunity for me.’’

RAFAELLO OLIVEIRA
“My nickname is “Tractor” – I like to run over my opponents. The plan is to come out non-stop and knock him out or get him to submit. I would like best to win by stoppage but he is a tough dude, who I respect. But I came here to win and if I am mentally right, I will. I’m ready for anything.

“I will be very aggressive and push the pace. This is my time, my opportunity and I’m ready for the fight of my life. I’ve waited my whole life for this opportunity.’’

LYLE “FANCY PANTS’’ BEERBOHM

“I need to stay aggressive, fight smart and don’t break (mentally). Do that and I will win. Whoever breaks first will lose this fight.

“This fight is going to be everywhere. I know his style; he knows mine. This will be the fight of the night.

“I’ve only been doing MMA 19 months but I wrestled in high school and am a natural fighter. This is my job. I train twice a day, that’s all I do.

“The competition in this sport is second to none. I’m calm and a nice guy outside the cage, but once I get inside, it’s like somebody flips a switch. I got my nickname became my mom makes my shorts.’’
