Editor’s Note:

Jerry “The Punching Bag” Spiegel (9-25-1) has weathered the storm a few times to notch a win, and this is the second event this reporter witnessed Spiegel get pounded for a while before twisting someone’s leg in an impossible pretzel with his signature and dangerous heel hook skills. Mike Dexter (4-5) probably wishes he knew about Spiegel’s secret weapon before going into the fight. Instead Dexter found out when something popped in his knee and something twisted way beyond the point of no return. After Spiegel latched onto Dexter’s leg, it was the beginning of the end. Dexter immediately let out a yelp and dragged himself to the edge of the cage with his leg extended straight and his knee clearly out of place. It took a long while for him to even get to his feet to see his opponent’s hand raised. He limped gingerly out of the cage on a wheel that’s not going to be road worthy for at least a month now courtesy of the Spiegel special move. Spiegel’s grappling handiwork yet again saved the day for the tenacious and spirited fighter from New York who will look for win number 10 in his next fight.
