Ring to Distribute Content on Yahoo! Sports

Los Angeles – November 20, 2008 – The Ring Magazine, “The Bible of Boxing,” announced today that it has launched a re-designed website (http://www.thering-online.com) and begun a content alliance with Yahoo! Sports. The new site is a co-branded The Ring and Yahoo! Sports offering, and features the latest from Ring Magazine, as well as more than 75 years of the magazine’s archives. Additionally, as part of the new content alliance, the Yahoo! Sports boxing channel will feature editorial and video content from The Ring online. The announcement was made by Richard Schaefer, CEO of Sports and Entertainment Publications, Inc., owner of The Ring.

“We wanted to bring the magazine into the 21st Century and we can’t think of a better partner to accomplish this with than Yahoo Sports,” said Schaefer. When we purchased the publication in October, it was with an eye towards a strategic alliance like this one and we are convinced that this will be the first step in our goal to make The Ring and The Ring online the ultimate resource for boxing fans.”

The Ring Magazine, which focuses exclusively on the sport of boxing, has been published continuously since 1922. The online destination will feature writing from award-winning journalists, including Nigel Collins, Doug Fisher, Joe Santoliquito and Mike Rosenthal. The Ring online will also draw upon some of the biggest names in boxing to contribute regular columns, blogs and videos that will cover the sport on a global basis. Additionally, the new venture will digitize the archives of The Ring, which will become the basis for one of the most extensive and complete searchable databases of boxers, fights and colorful boxing characters from the last century.

The Ring online content, which will be featured on the Yahoo! Sports boxing front page, will offer:

n Timely, daily updates from the world of boxing

n Feature pieces and profiles from The Ring editorial staff

n Extensive archival and historical material from the history of The Ring

n Searchable statistical databases

n Live and archival video from topical events

n Live bouts
