Sunday Jan. 29, 2012 Takedown Wrestling Radio will broadcast LIVE from Norman, Oklahoma. Two of the nations toughest teams are set to square off at 12 noon CT. The 10th ranked Sooners of Oklahoma will  battle the 15th ranked Mountain Hawks of Lehigh. Prematch broadcast starts at 11:30 am CT on theMat.com

Sunday marks the return of former Sooner Head Coach Jack Spates. The “Coach” joins Takedown Wrestling’s Scott Casber and Steve Foster for all the action of this dual in Norman. “We’re exited for the return of Jack Spates and Takedown Wrestling Radio. Spates has been a leader for our sport for years and we all know what Takedown Wrestling has done in promoting our sport. We welcome the opportunity to compete in front of their national audience”,  said Sooner Head Coach Mark Cody.

Winners of its last seven duals, Oklahoma owns a 10-2 overall dual record, 3 and 1 in conference action. The Sooners will host Virginia Tech Friday night before welcoming the Mountain Hawks on Sunday. Mark Cody arrived in Oklahoma last spring after several successful years at American University. His Sooner team has won the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold tournament and finished third at the 49th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. Currently eight Oklahoma wrestlers are nationally ranked by Amateur Wrestling News, led by Midlands Champ Kendric Maple, ranked third at 141 and junior Jarrod Patterson, who is ranked seventh at 125.

With top-five grapplers Zach Rey and Robert Hamlin leading the charge, Lehigh opens its weekend against the ten-time defending MAC champions from Central Michigan prior to tangling with Oklahoma.

Sunday’s Oklahoma Vs Lehigh dual will get underway LIVE at 11:30 a.m. (CT) from the Historic McCasland Fieldhouse in Norman, Oklahoma. Takedown Wrestling’s Streaming audio is available at no charge exclusively on theMat.com.

Jack Spates is the former head wrestling coach of the University of Oklahoma, where he led the Sooners to seven top-10 finishes in the NCAA tournament and one Big 12 Conference championship. Prior to joining Oklahoma in 1993, Spates was the head coach at Cornell University and served as an assistant coach at the United States Military Academy and at the University of Pittsburgh. As a wrestler, Spates was the 1973 NCAA champion at 118 pounds for Slippery Rock University. Spates retired at the conclusion of the 2010–11 season with a record of (OU Record 243-97-12)  (All time Record 317-111-15)
