LOS ANGELES, June 8 – Former two-time world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero now has a new opponent for his June 12th fight at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California, after original foe Johnnie Edwards withdrew from the bout due to a back injury. Stepping up to the plate for the ESPN “Friday Night Fights” main event is veteran contender Efren “Huracan” Hinojosa.

A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Hinojosa (30-5-1, 17 KOs) has fought boxing’s best over the course of his professional career. The owner of wins over the likes of Steve Quinonez, Lamar Murphy, Ivan Robinson and Jose Luis Soto Karass, this former USBA champion is eager to make another run at a world title and knows that beating Guerrero is a big step in that direction.

Guerrero vs. Hinojosa, a 10 round junior lightweight bout that headlines a hard-hitting night of world-class boxing, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions. The ESPN “Friday Night Fights” live telecast beginning at 10pm ET / 7pm PT will be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN360.com.
