DALLAS (August 6, 2009)

WHAT: HDNet will air the exclusive U.S. broadcast of “HDNet Fights Presents: World Victory Road: Sengoku 9-Featherweight Grand Prix 2009, Final Round.” The event took place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on August 2.

The Featherweight Grand Prix comes to a climax as Hatsu Hioki collides with Masanori Kanehara and Michihiro Omigawa squares off with Marlon Sandro in semi-final bouts with the winners advancing to the tournament final to crown a Sengoku Featherweight Champion later in the night.

And, in what is being called the knockout of the year see American Dan Hornbuckle and Akihiro Gono battle until a wicked head kick brings a sudden halt to their welterweight match-up.

In other action, Blagio Ivanov, who handed Fedor Emelianenko his first combat sambo loss in eight years, makes his MMA debut against Kazuyuki Fujita, and Saturo Kitaoka defends his Sengoku Lightweight Title against Mizuto Hirota.
