Salem, NJ (August 8, 2009)—This Friday night two of the hottest fighters in the boxing Mecca that is Philadelphia will apply their craft across state lines in New Jersey as undefeated lightweight, “Hammering” Hank Lundy and rising Jr. Middleweight, Derek “Pooh” Ennis will participate in separate co-features on a big night of boxing at the Campbell Fitness Center in Salem, New Jersey.
The DUNGEON IN SALEM is promoted by Lamar Johnson’s Dungeon Warrior Promotions in associations with Bionic Bull Promotions.
Lundy, 14-0-1 with eight knockouts will take on Gary Bergeron in a bout scheduled for eight rounds.
Lundy of Philadelphia has developed into one of the hottest prospects in the city as he will take on anyone at anytime regardless of his opponent’s record or credentials.
Lundy has stopped his previous two opponents including Josh Beamon in his last fight in five rounds on July 17th.
Bergeron will be looking to upset Lundy and walk into enemy territory to do it.
The native of Chalmette, Louisiana sports a record of 10-4 with six knockouts. In his last bout, Bergeron dropped a six round unanimous decision to Henry Mitchell on July 25th in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
Ennis of Philadelphia quietly climbing the ranks and is on the cusp of landing a significant bout.
Ennis has a record of 18-2-1 with twelve knockouts. Ennis is riding a six bout winning streak with three of those wins coming by knockout. In his last bout, Ennis scored two knockdowns en route to a six round unanimous decision over the durable John Mackey on July 10th in a bout that was televised on ESPN 2.
Ennis opponent will be announced shortly.
In a six round Jr. Lightweight bout, Coy Evans of Philadelphia will battle Darrell Martin of Baltimore, Md.
Evans has a record of 4-0-1 and is coming off a four round unanimous decision over Jose Espinal on February 3rd in Brooklyn, New York
Martin has been a staple in the Delaware Valley as this will be his be the tenth appearance in the tri-state area.
Martin sports a deceiving record of 4-10 with one knockout as the combined record of his opponents is 61-7-5. This will be the fourth consecutive where Martin will be taking on an undefeated opponent.
Martin is coming off a six round unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Eddie Soto (11-0) on July 17th in Providence, Rhode Island.
In a six round Lightweight bout, Antonio Espinoza will risk his undefeated record against san opponent to be named.
Espinoza of West New York, New Jersey has a record of 11-0 with one knockout and is coming off a six round unanimous decision over Ron Boys back on May 23rd in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
In a Ladies Lightweight bout, Elizabeth Sherman of Philadelphia takes on debut Keytida Cook of York, South Carolina.
Sherman has a record of 1-0 which was a knockout over Samantha Ward of Anderson, Indiana on June 27th.
Coming off his debut victory on April 4th over Soumana Abdoulaye, Lonnie Jackson Jr. will battle debuting Bobby Bynum of Wilson, North Carolina.
Rounding out the card will see Dan Grafton of Philadelphia battle Walter Tyler of New Jersey in a four round Cruiserweight bout.
