Lights Out in Indianapolis

United Fight League is coming to Indiana’s Circle City August 11th. Keith Palmer, Promoter of the UFL is excited to see the event being held in one of Indiana’s nicest sports arenas, Conseco Fieldhouse. The UFL is a Mixed Martial Arts sporting event that will feature 15 bouts. Some of the Mid-West’s best up and coming fighters are being featured on the fight card as well as some of today’s top professional fighters including Chris “Lights Out” Lytle. Lytle will be the main event of the evening, fighting Matthew Brown from Columbus, Ohio. Lytle, a UFC veteran, just recently won at UFC 73 in Sacramento, California against UFC veteran Jason “The Gizzard” Gilliam by winning submission of the night.
There are some very good bouts on the card. One very exciting fight should be MMA veteran Gary “Iron Bear” Myers vs. Sam Toole. Myers, at age 42 is fighting his last fight of his career. He has lost more than 60 lbs. to fight at 205 pound weight limit. Myers stated “I have not seen this weight in ten years. I am feeling great and ready to go three rounds if needed. He will be tested early in the bout. I feel a storm brewing, he better be able to weather the storm out”. Myers, who has fought all around the world in places such as Russia, Brazil and Japan has fought the likes of Rich Franklin and Jeremy Horn .
Also scheduled to fight are Nate Moore, Justin Weiman, Allen Weickert, Johnny Rees, Scott Henze, Todd brown, John Troyer, Jesse Chilton, Shamar Bailey, Shaw Bradbury, Darrell Smith, Pat McPherson, Brian Dunn, Jeremy Wingler, Jeremiah Adriano, Dan Kolbasoski, Dominic Desando, Orville Smith, Steve Hallock, James Douglas, Jeremy Steward, Brian Veach, Tiny Norton, Kevin Blundell and Chris Freyer.
Palmer hopes to make the UFL a great success and make these Mid-West fighters superstars in the MMA world. Palmer began his promoting 4 years ago by doing local MMA and boxing events throughout Indianapolis. He is young and focused on making his name a respectable one in the MMA business. He has done a great job with marketing this event to the public. He has had fighters doing public appearances and signing autographs and taking pictures. He has really made this fight known to the general public over the internet with the help of the website Myspace.
The weigh-ins will be held on August 10th at 8pm in downtown Indianapolis. The general public is welcome to attend. Make sure you show your support for this great event!
