Gunn To Challenge Benito Fernandez On August 25th!
For immediate release
On August 25th at Robert E Lee High School in Springfield, Virginia, World ranked Cruiserweight Bobby Gunn 17-3 {14 KO’s} will challenge veteran southpaw Benito Fernandez 19-14 {6 KO’s}. The scheduled ten round contest will be the main event on a Sugar Han Productions card which features seven bouts in total. Fernandez has been in with tough competition including former World champions Antonio Tarver, Buster Drayton, and Donny Lalonde. The former IBA champion had mixed feelings about facing Fernandez over ten instead of fighting for the IBF International Cruiserweight title as previously scheduled.
“To be honest, I respect Fernandez and he has fought tough competition but I was hoping to fight for the belt” said the heavy handed Gunn. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t work a deal out with a top level opponent. Most fighters are prima donnas and belive they should be fighting for top money but the reality is the money is not always there”.
Tickets are still on sale and can be ordered by calling Han Kim at 703-909-8077.
