The African Warrior, Evans Ashira, will take on Canadian Ian MacKillop on Team Palle´s promotion September 14 in Horsens with the vacant IBA jr middle title at stake. Ashira have previously held the IBA belt at 160. Lightweight Martin Kristjansen returns after the tough fight against Stefano Zoff last year and tunes up against Belgian Hervé De Luca. Cruiser Anders Hugger is in against Blanchard Kalambay. Topping the bill are cruisers Johny Jensen and Louis Del Valle with the vacant WBA I/C title at stake.
EBU heavy champ Vladimir Virchis will defend the title against stablemate Aleksander Dimitrenko in an-all Ukrainian matchup. Date and site is to be announced with Universum promoting. It´s a riskful fight for the young, talented but somewhat fragile Dimitrenko. The fight is not announced yet by Universum and we could look at a scenario where Virchis relinquish the title to go for a world title fight.
EBU welter king Jackson Osei Bonsu will defend the title against mandatory challenger Nordine Mouchi October 27 in France. Jackson´s planned voluntary defence at home in Antwerp, Belgium, against Brice Faradji is off. There is also plans to take the very hardpunching transplanted Ghanian to the US but all have to wait until Mouchi is out of the way. Their first fight – in February of this year – is a candidate for fight of the year.
Ex-WBC supermiddle ruler Markus Beyer will return to the ring and says the hand injury that have kept him sidelined since losing to Mikkel Kessler last October is now healed after surgery and physiotherapy.
EBU supermiddle champ Cristian Sanavia will defend the title against German Danilo Haussler in November in Germany.
Comebacking Danish welter Allan Vester will face Austrian Gotthard Hinteregger on Pugnus Promotion´s “Night of the Champions” show September 15 in Karlstad. It´s rumored that Allan´s father Anders also will comeback in Denmark as a promoter.
German Alexander Sipos joins Amin Asikainen as co-challenger for the vacant EU middleweight title. Asikainen beat Sipos during his days as EBU champ.
Canadian heavy Jean Francois Bergeron´s NABA title will be at stake when he face ex-WBA king Nikolai Valuev September 29 in Oldenburg.
Frenchman Salim Bouaita defends the EU 122 lb title against Italian Fausto Bartolozzi October 26 in in France.
20-0 jr welter Ali Chebah, a pro since the age of 16, defends the WBC jr welter Youth title against Thai Payakchai Sithparadorn October 9 in Vilamoura, Portugal. Jr midle Hamlet Petrosian and middle Dominik Britsch are featured on the undercard.
