USS CUNNINGHAM READY FOR REMATCH
Philadelphia (March 27, 2007)—IBF number-one ranked cruiserweight, Steve “USS” Cunningham got the word on Tuesday that he will be going back to Warsaw, Poland to win the IBF Cruiserweight title from Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on May 26th.
“Although it is my preference to fight in a neutral county, I am excited about the opportunity for the rematch. The people of Poland treated me with a lot of respect when I was there in November.”
“What happened in November is over and done with and I have been focusing on the rematch ever since the IBF did the right thing and saw my protest through. I had a slight setback with my shoulder but its all systems go for the USS Cunningham to deploy to Poland.”
Cunningham (19-1, 10 KO’s), who lost a controversial split decision last November 25 in Warsaw against Wlodarczyk, knows that this result will be different.
“I will leave no doubt in anyone’s mind for this fight as I will dominate from the opening bell until my hand is raised and I bring back that belt, that is mine to begin with, back to Philadelphia and the United States on Memorial Day weekend.”
