Playing into DUMBO’s rough manufacturing infrastructure and today’s world-class cultural reputation, DUMBO Fight Night combines the beauty of the arts in stark contrast to the force of hand-to-hand combat. Accompanying the action in the ring, attendees will partake in some friendly competition of their own, bid on silent auction items, and enjoy a special menu catered by Rice. All funds raised from DUMBO Fight Night will be dedicated to the maintenance of our beloved Belgian block streets.
This is a fund raiser for the DUMBO Improvement District. Admission to the event is $50.00 per person. The evenings festivities start at 6 p.m. and conclude with the Boxing Show. The bouts are sanctioned by USA Boxing Metro.

THE 11TH ANNUAL ART UNDER THE BRIDGE FESTIVAL
The 11th Annual Art Under the Bridge Festival takes place September 28-30, 2007, in DUMBO, Brooklyn, New York. DUMBO Arts Center, the Festival’s producer, is anticipating over 150,000 visitors again this year. Sixty new art works will be scattered throughout the neighborhood, while 158 private studios will open to the public and exhibitions will run in sixteen different venues.
The event is the single largest urban forum for experimental art in the United States that transforms the distinctive waterfront neighborhood into a multi-sensory public art arena.
Gleason’s Gym will become one of the private studios and will be open to the public Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th, 1:00-6:00pm.
If you wish to exhibit your art, photographs, sculptures, painting – any type of art – contact Bruce Silverglade at 718 797 2872. There is no charge to show your work and no commission when you sell your work. The only requirement is that the work has something to do with Boxing.
THIS YEARS FANTASY CAMP JUST CONCLUDED!
The camp went from August 31st to September 3rd.
Thirty-six participants from around the World and around the United States joined twenty-one Gleason’s trainers and staff to have the “Best” camp to date. Fifteen of the participants were female and one was a minor at age 15. Five of the participants were attorneys. There were fourteen bouts on the Sunday Evening Card. All were great but “Pinky” stole the show.
Later, at our after party, 5 names were put on the birthday cake.
Keep next year’s Labor Day Weekend open as that will again be “Fantasy Camp” time.
OUR OCTOBER AMATUER BOXING SHOW will be Saturday, October 13th.
