Final card set for “Halloween Havoc” in Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. (October 23, 2009) – No Freddy Kruegers, Jasons or even Frankensteins are fighting on October 30th (Halloween Eve) pro boxing card at the Yonkers Armory, but “Halloween Havoc” will feature some of New York’s most promising and entertaining young boxers.

O’Shea Brothers Boxing Promotion is bringing old-school boxing back to the fans, showcasing hungry fighters in action-packed, competitive bouts.

Puerto Rican heavyweight Alexis Mejias (10-1, 4 KOs), fighting out of Paterson, New Jersey, headlines against Josh Harris (3-3-1, 2 KOs) in the 6 round main event.

In two other 6-rounders, fan favorite “Crazy” Eddie Irizarry (7-1, 2 KOs) battles featherweight Joey Arroyo (2-1, 0 KOs) for Bronx bragging rights in the co-feature, while 1-0 bantamweights with a common past, Raul Lopez (1-0, 1 KO) and Jose “Chilli” Rivera (1-0, 0 KOs), rekindle their rivalry that started in the amateurs with Lopez winning two of three matches.

Highly-touted African welterweight prospect Issouf Kinda (5-0, 3 KOs), now living in Harlem, faces Melchor Guillen, Jr. (2-3 (1 KO) in a 4-round welterweight bout.

Also on the undercard in 4-round bouts are Yonkers super middleweight Shqiprim “ White Tiger” Muriqi (1-0, 0 KOs) meeting Manhattan’s Fasika Bezabeth (0-2); Astoria light middleweight Lambros “Lionheart” Karaolides (3-0, 2 KOs), by way of Cyprus, takes on Eusebio Flores (1-1, 1 KO), of Queens; 2- time New York Golden Gloves champion Adam Kownacki, fighting out of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and heavyweight Carosse Auponte (0-2) square-off in their pro debuts; Long Island lightweight Michael Brooks and the Bronx’ Jamel Brown also making their pro debuts; Yonkers super featherweight Angel “Terror” Torres (1-3-2, 1 KO) challenges pro debuting Takeshi Sato, of Manhattan. All fights and fighters are subject to change.
