UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHT FURUQ SALEEM TO TAKE ON SEDRICK FIELDS ON FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE LEGENDARY BLUE HORIZON
PHILADELPHIA (October 11, 2007)-Undefeated Heavyweight Furuq “The Dream” Saleem of Newark, New Jersey will face upset-minded Sedrick Fields in yet another big bout that will take place on a card promoted by Vernoca L. Michael and Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions on Friday October 12th at The Legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia.
Saleem, 36-0 with thirty-two knockouts will be taking the next step in recapturing his status as a top rated heavyweight contender. The former IBF-ranked Saleeem will be making his second Legendary Blue Horizon appearance in four months, when on June 1st he knocked out Wallace McDaniel in sixty-one seconds to keep his undefeated mark.
Fields, 22-34-2 with sixteen knockouts, from Augusta, Georgia has been in with all the top names in the Heavyweight division such as currant WBC Heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev, top contender Jameel McCline, former WBC champion Oliver McCall, former WBO champion Sergei Liakhovich, former world title challangers Luan Krasniqi and Ray Austin, Currant WBA champ Ruslan Chagaev and former undisputed champ Michael Moorer.
Fields had his greatest moment on April 27, 2000 when he scored a big upset over former Linear and WBO champion Shannon Briggs
Saleem-Fields is just another big bout on October 12.
In the main event, undefeated Jr. Middleweight Harry Joe Yorgey will look to avenge the only draw on his ledger when he takes on Martinus Clay in a rematch of a controversial draw that took place in 2006.
Also on the card will be woman’s sensation Olivia “The Great” Fonseca along with undefeated fighters such as “Hammering” Hank Lundy, Tommy Rainone, Jules Blackwell, Bryheim Douglas as well as star of The Contender Season-2 Aaron Torres.
