MAYWEATHER READY TO DANCE AGAIN MONDAY NIGHT ON ABC’S DANCING WITH THE STARS; BOXING CHAMP NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT AS COMPETITION HEATS UP
LOS ANGELES (October 14)—Welterweight champion and boxing’s king of the ring Floyd Mayweather is asking you to tune-in and vote for him Monday night on this week’s Dancing With The Stars (ABC, 8pm ET/PT). The boxing superstar, who found himself in the bottom two last week, is submitting himself to the demands of learning technical ballroom dance routines in addition to training for his welterweight championship against Ricky Hatton on December 8 at the MGM Grand and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View.
“It’s a very competitive atmosphere out there and you can make the difference by sending in your votes,” said Mayweather. “I have been doing double duty with training for Ricky Hatton and practicing for the show. The dancing isn’t easy but I am determined to show the judges I am serious about this competition and want to be the champion when it’s all said and done.”
Voting begins at the opening of the show and closes at various times depending on the chosen voting method. Phones lines close 30 minutes after the Monday show and online polls close 12pm ET the day of the Results show. All votes can be cast up to 10 times. To vote for Mayweather, dial 1-800-868-3408 or for AT&T subscribers can text the word “VOTE” to 3408.
