Buakaw headlines Premier League Muay Thai at Seni

MSA looks to take Muay Thai into the big time with a series of arena shows across the UK. The first of which is next weekend at Manchester Evening News Arena on Saturday 27th March 2010.
On Saturday 29th May 2010 at Seni in ExCeL London, MSA Muay Thai Premier League will then feature, in a fight put together by Dan Green (working with Rob Cox), none other than K1 Max superstar Buakaw Por Pramuk under Full Thai rules!
Buakaw Por Pramuk is undoubtedly the number one K1 Max and Thai superstar! Formerly two time Omnoi Stadium and Thailand national champion, he became a true worldwide superstar when he became the K-1 Max World Champion beating none other than John Wayne Parr, Takayuki Kohiruimaki and previous champion Masato in the finals. In 2005 he was nearly cr! owned champion again but lost in the final after an extra round to Andy Souwer. In 2006 though, Buakaw got his revenge beating Andy Souwer to again be K1 Max champion! He has also won the WMC world title and we believe he is undoubtedly the number one superwelterweight in the world! You name them, he has beaten them; Masato, Andy Souwer, Jomhod, Gago Drago, Alber Kraus, Dzabar Askerov, John Wayne Parr, Nicky Holzken, Fadir Chahbari, Jean Charles Skarbowski, Marco Pique! His full record stands at 222 fights with 189 wins, 12 draws and only 21 losses, most of which were earlier in his career in Thailand stadiums. Buakaw commented “This is the only time I will fight in London, and I’ve never been to England before. I’m really looking forward to it and believe me I’m going to put on a show in London!”
The man set to challenge Buakaw will be none other than Contender UK tournament winner Jordan Watson, one of Englands brightest prospects for many years. The word prospect may ! be a little misleading though as Watson has been training since an early age and clocked up over 50 junior bouts before moving on to his adult professional career which has seen him have 29 fights and only 4 losses!
Watson too has some good K1 experience where he made the final of the K1 Max Pain and Glory also held at Seni but this fight is under Muay Thai rules, which Watson is a specialist at and he knows that this fight is a shot at the big time! If any English fighter can beat Buakaw under Full Thai rules then it’s Watson.
Tim Thomas will be another headliner on the event. Contracts are pending at time of going to press but his scheduled opponent will be Malaipet Sitpraprom. Malaipet is a well known star in both Europe and the USA and will be a tough fight for Thomas, with Malaipet having a recent win over Richard Fenwick. The fights will take place in the new purpose built ExCeL auditorium which will officially host several of the London Olympic Sports including the boxing event. All seats provide an excellent view of the action and doors will open at 16.45
Tickets go on sale this weekend on the 24hr Seni hotline 0844 847 1699 or www.msapremier.com

Since Primetime launched on the Sky platform in October 2009 with the Super Six Super middleweight boxing tournament there has been great demand for Primetime to expand onto Virgin by both boxing fans and promoters alike. The deal sees Primetime’s reach expand by over a third.
The action begins on Virgin this Saturday (20th March at 8pm) with Heavyweight title bout between ‘Dr Steelhammer’ Wladimir Klitschko and ‘Fast Eddie’ Chambers. Wladimir Klitschko will defend his WBO and IBF Heavyweight belts against American Eddie Chambers at Dusseldorf’s Esprit Arena in Germany. With two belts on the line both men are going to be going for the big win.
IBF, WBO and IBO champion Wladim! ir Klitschko is focused and determined to keep his belts in the Klitschko family. He said this week:
“After nine months off, I am eager to get back in the ring. I am very excited to fight in another soccer stadium, this one will hold more than 50,000 people. The atmosphere in the stadium will be fantastic. I am 33 years old and at the top of my athletic ability, I have never been so strong, fast, and experienced. Eddie is a very talented fighter and has a very difficult style, but I am well prepared to defend my titles. All four of my belts will stay in the Klitschko family.”
Then on 24th April Primetime will broadcast on both Sky and Virgin On Demand our very own WBC undefeated World champion Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch as he takes on Mikkel Kessler.
