ON SATURDAY, APRIL 17, AT BRIDGESTONE ARENA
NASHVILLE (April 6, 2010) – A middleweight (185 pounds) matchup between Jason “Mayhem” Miller (22-7) and Tim Stout (12-8) has been added to the STRIKEFORCE Nashville: Henderson vs. Shields event which will be broadcast Live on the CBS Television Network (9-11 p.m. ET/PT) from the Bridgestone Arena here on Saturday, April 17.
The bout between Miller and Stout will be shown on the CBS Television Network in part or, time permitting, in its entirety.
One of MMA’s most eccentric personalities, Miller, known as much for his choreographed ring entrances as he is for his superior wrestling ability, has become a household name as host of the MTV smash hit reality series, Bully Beatdown.
Miller will attempt to re-enter the win column after losing a hard-fought STRIKEFORCE middleweight championship battle to Jake Shields by way of unanimous decision at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on Nov. 7, 2009. Miller nearly submitted Shields with a rear naked choke in the second round before the bell sounded to end the round.
The 31-year-old Stout, of Mountain City, Tenn., is coming off a dominant, three-round unanimous decision victory over Phillip Wyman in Atlanta, Georgia on Feb. 27.

The event will air live on the CBS Television Network. In televised STRIKEFORCE world title fights, legendary MMA superstar and two-time U.S. Olympic wrestling competitor Dan Henderson (25-7) will challenge STRIKEFORCE World Middleweight (185 pounds) Champion Jake Shields (24-4-1), who has won 13 straight dating to December 2004, STRIKEFORCE World Light Heavyweight (205 pounds) Champion Gegard Mousasi (28-2-1) will defend his crown against undefeated MMA star and two-time NCAA All-American wrestling star “King Mo” Lawal (6-0) and STRIKEFORCE World Lightweight (155 pounds) Champion Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez (17-2) will risk his belt against DREAM champion and Japanese superstar Shinya Aoki (23-4).

In March 2009, STRIKEFORCE signed a multi-year agreement to stage live MMA events on the premium cable television network. The promotion made its live, primetime debut on CBS with the “Fedor vs. Rogers” mega-fight that it co-promoted with M-1 Global on Saturday, Nov. 7, and generated 5.46 million viewers for the main event between the world’s No. 1 heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, and superstar Brett “The Grim” Rogers.
