Edson Berto RFC Lightweight Champ, IFL’s Josh Odom, UFC TUF’s Allen Berube, Former NFL Veteran Marcus Jones All Set For RFC X

One of the nation’s premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight promoters, Real Fighting Championships (RFC) will present another sensational championship fight card on Saturday, November 10th, in Tampa’s Sun Dome.

The Main Event will feature James Edson “Little Tiger” Berto against IFL Fighter Josh Odom.

Berto, who has fought on many previous RFC cards, is tuning up for another national TV bout on Showtime’s EliteXC series.

Berto trains out of Tiger’s World of Martial Arts located in Winter Haven, Florida and comes from a strong family of well rounded fighters. His father and trainer Dieseul Berto is a former Pride and UFC fighter, his brother Andre is a 2004 Olympic boxer who has since turned professional with an undefeated record of 20-0, and brother Cleveland is a Florida State wrestling champion and also placed second in the National tournament.

Josh Odom, a MMA Freestyler, fought for Frank Shamrock’s Razorclaws IFL Team in 2006-07. Training at the Shamrock Academy with Frank, he’s very proficient in the Shamrock Submission Fighting style. He also has extensive karate experience, serving as an instructor in his hometown of Tallahassee, Fla.

Odom has been a part of another team, serving a tour of duty in the Army and ascending to sergeant. He served in Baghdad, Iraq along with fellow members of the 124th Infantry Division of the Florida National Guard.

Former NFL Tampa Bay Bucs Defensive End, Marcus Jones is the latest student of Trainer Rob Kahn’s of Gracie Tampa to join the Pro ranks. He is coming off his recent Pro Debut as a MMA fighter to face Roman Hellems from Des Moines Iowa in a Heavyweight contest.

Tampa favorite, Allen “Monstah Lobstah” Berube, a participant in UFC’s TUF 5, returns to the RFC against Ali “Little Scorpion” Radwan from “The Hit Squad” in Tampa.

The event will be taped for a future TV broadcast with commentary by Fight Zone TV’s Jay Adams and color analyst, Miguel Torres.

Mixed Martial Arts or MMA is a term for the combat sport in which two competitors attempt to achieve dominance over one another by utilizing three general tactics: striking, finishing holds, and control. The rules allow the combatants to use a variety of martial arts techniques, including punches, kicks, joint-locks, chokes, takedowns and throws. The sport features competitors from various martial arts such as Karate, Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Kick-boxing, Wrestling and Judo.
