The Asylum Fight League returns this weekend for its 29th card, this time taking place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The event is being held at the Trump Marina hotel and casino and brings together fighters from all over the country, as well as plenty of local talent from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Asylum has a long history of producing fighters who go on to fight in the bigger promotions, so you might well see some of the stars of tomorrow if you attend the event. There is also an after party at the Wave where you can meet the fighters and get autographs.

Of the PA fighters on the card, Al Amoroso, Akeim Leonard and Chris Booker are making their debuts, while Ron Kofroth looks to bounce back after losing his last outing at Asylum Fight League 28.

The fight card features a mixture of professional and amateur fights, and bouts are liable to change before the event.

Mez Sports presents Pandemonium I, a full night of boxing and MMA action, featuring Lance “Mount” Whitaker, Andre “The Russian Bear” Fedesov, UFC Vet Roman “Emperor” Mitichyan, and TUF Season 9 Alum Ritchie Wilson.

Glendale fighters Roman “The Emperor” Mitichyan and Artur “The Punisher” Bernetsyan are both scheduled to compete in respective contests on June 12 at MEZ Sports’ “Pandemonium” at the Hollywood Palladium.

The card will feature both mixed martial arts and boxing.

Bernetsyan (3-0, 2 KOs) will look to continue a promising start to a promising career when he faces Ramon Flores (3-6-1, 3 KOs) in a 135-pound bout. Flores was originally slated to fight Bernetsyan on May 6 at a King of the West card, but the former pulled out to due the death of his father. It will be Bernetsyan’s fourth fight of the year.

Mitichyan (10-3), a former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter, will fight for the first time since August of 2009, headlining the MMA portion of the event.

One of Mitichyan’s training partners at the Main Event Sports Club, Sevak Magakian, was originally scheduled to face Preston Scharf at the aforementioned May 6 event.

Now, Mitichyan will take on Scharf (11-8) in the event’s MMA main event.

Mitichyan, who teaches at the Glendale Fighting Club where Bernetsyan is trained, was scheduled to headline a similar MMA/boxing event promoted by MEZ Sports in April at the Shrine Auditorium, but the event fell through.

Also scheduled to compete on the card is Burbank welterweight boxer Johnny Suarez (5-3-2) and, in the main event, heavyweights Andrey Fedosov (21-1, 17 KOs) and Lance Whitaker (34-6-1, 28 KOs) are set to face off in a 10-round boxing match. Fedosov’s last two victories came in Glendale at the Glendale Civic Center.

Michel Gagnon secured a tight guillotine choke after just 52 seconds into his fight to defeat Guillaume Lamarche and become the first Ringside MMA featherweight champion tonight at Ringside 6: Rage at the Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal, Quebec. Guillaume ‘Il Toro’ Delorenzi landed some big hammer-fists inside Ryan Machan’s guard but was unable to finish his opponent despite a dominant first round that ended with Delorenzi in full-mount. The second round was more contentious but a kick to the ribs by Delorenzi dropped Machan and ‘Il Toro’ was able to capitalize with some ground and pound to end the fight.

Derek ‘The Sex Machine’ Gauthier rebounded from a loss in his last fight to defeat Nova Scotian fighter Jason Rorison via TKO. Rorison landed some good punches that cut Gauthier but ‘The Sex Machine’ came back and dropped his opponent with a punch before grounding and pounding his way to a victory. Jason Rorison looked surprised at the speed of the stoppage and put up an argument after the fight.

In the opening bout, Dave Bedard quickly took Robin Helou down and used his ground and pound to score the TKO victory. Danny St-Gelais kept the trend going by defeating Samuel Laverriere via TKO in the second round after an even-paced first stanza.

Daylin Logan remained undefeated using his aggressive style to score a TKO victory over Sebastien Deroy after just under ninety seconds in the cage. Tristar gym prospect Alex Garcia also remained undefeated with a vicious knockout of Jaret MacIntosh in just 44 seconds. Montreal featherweight Tim Wadsworth continued his winning streak with a dominant performance over Winnipeg’s Dwight Sutherland to secure a first round rear-naked choke for the win.
