SARASOTA, FLA. (November 20, 2007) – Expanding rapidly to meet fan demand, Bonecrunch Fighting is proud to announce the addition of veteran mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and trainer Josh Odom to the league. Odom’s Tallahassee Warriors are the eighth team in the Bonecrunch Fighting league.

A standout athlete growing up in Tallahassee, Odom earned an Ed Parker Kemp Karate black belt in high school. However, he did not realize his calling as a MMA fighter until training with his fellow troops during a tour of duty in Iraq with the Florida National Guard. Upon his return, Odom began training with MMA superstar Frank Shamrock and the Tallahassee Fight Club to earn a spot on the Frank Shamrock fight team, a roster spot in the International Fight League (IFL) for the 2006-2007 season. Continuing his career as a professional fighter with a current record of 6-5-0, Odom is currently a full-time instructor at Tallahassee MMA.

“Josh Odom fought under the team structure in the IFL and can bring his fighters to a new level with Bonecrunch Fighting. In joining the league, his Tallahassee-based team will compete against teams coached by notable fighters like Din Thomas and Seth Petruzelli,” said Andrew Neitlich, Bonecrunch Fighting founder and CEO.

The Tallahassee Warriors will be one of eight teams competing tournament-style in 2008 to determine the first Bonecrunch Fighting championship team. At the Lakeland Center in Lakeland, Fla. on Saturday, January 12, Rob Kahn’s Tampa Terrors will take on UFC veteran Din Thomas’s Port St. Lucie Devils in the first five bouts. The second five bouts will feature Ross Kellin’s Lakeland Blaze competing against Tim Riddle’s Cincinnati Norsemen. At Robarts Arena in Sarasota, Fla. on Saturday, February 9, veteran IFL fighter Josh Odom’s Tallahassee Warriors will compete against UFC fighter Seth Petruzelli’s Orlando Iron Monkeys. Also on February 9, new Sarasota Slammers team will seek vengeance in a rematch with the Miami Crazy Wolves. The winning teams will advance to the semifinals in Sarasota on April 5.

FightZone TV will broadcast the entire 2008 Bonecrunch Fighting season on the Fox Sports-owned SunSports Network to over 6 million Florida homes and over 2 million national subscribers of Direct TV and the Dish Network. Randy Harris of Talking Sports Network will be the lead commentator, assisted by Benjamin Glossip and Joe Marquis.

Bonecrunch Fighting is the nation’s first mixed martial arts (MMA) league with local teams and local fan allegiance, entertaining fans with evenly matched professional fights and lively between-fight entertainment. Currently, the league has eight teams: Cincinnati Norsemen, Lakeland Blaze, Miami Crazy Wolves, Orlando Iron Monkeys, Port St. Lucie Devils, Sarasota Slammers, Tallahassee Warriors and Tampa Terrors.
