July 28th, 2010 RENO – The City of Fallon, NV and Let’s Get It On Promotions are pleased to present Rural Rumble 2010 on August 28th. This is the third installment of the annual professional boxing and MMA event.

Headlining the show will be top 10 world-ranked light-heavyweight contender and current USBA boxing champion Otis “Triple OG” Griffin (22-6, 9 KOs) facing off against tough journeyman, Billy “The Billy Goat” Bailey (10-9, 4 KOs).

Griffin, the newest addition to the Let’s Get It On Promotions stable, is coming off of two impressive wins. Most recently, he challenged Byron Mitchell for the vacant USBA light-heavyweight title and won a convincing decision. Bailey, who is coming off of a spirited performance against Joey Gilbert, is known for not taking a backwards step. His hyper-aggressive style promises to make a long night for Griffin.

Undefeated middleweight prospect Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales and fan-favorite lightweight, “Lightning” Lonnie Smith (10-2-2, 7 KOs), are also slated to fight on the Rural Rumble 2010 card in separate bouts.

The MMA portion of the show will feature top professional talent from Northern Nevada and Northern California.

In the feature MMA bout, undefeated Jerel Clark (3-0) from Reno, NV, will be facing off against Adam Albright (3-1) from San Jose. Both Clark and Albright have made impressive appearances in Reno this year. In March, Albright submitted Josh Turner. In May, Clark submitted Jeremy Razonable.

Fallon’s own John O’Donnell (1-0) is slated to fight in a special attraction bout against David Rivera from Turlock, CA (pro debut). O’Donnell is a popular personal trainer in Fallon. He was voted “best of” 2010. Many of his clients consist of sailors and Seals who are stationed at Fallon’s Naval base.

“It will be a thrill to fight in my hometown.” Says O’Donnell . “There’s nothing like fighting in front of family, friends, and all of the people who have supported me.”

The popular Frankie DiMartino (2-3) from Carson City, NV will be facing off against Reno’s Joe Barros (2-5) in a local bantamweight match up. On December 11th in Reno, DiMartino went to war with Devin Conkling for two full rounds. Most felt that he was winning the fight when a knee injury prevented him from answering the bell for the final round. This will be DiMartino’s first fight back since then.

Well known martial arts trainer, Kelley Weatherford (Reno), will be making her anticipated pro debut on August 28th. She will be facing off against Nicole Johnson (3-1) from Roseville, CA. Johnson made her last two showings in Reno and was victorious both times.
