US Olympian Daniel Cormier Makes Statement Winning 3rd Fight in 4 Weeks.
Undefeated heavyweight prospect Daniel Cormier met Jason Riley in an undercard bout at Strikeforce “Houston” Saturday night Aug. 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston. Riley may have wished for a different meeting with Cormier. Daniel Cormier goes to 5-0 with a TKO stoppage (tapout to strikes) at 1:02 of the first round.
Cormier placed fourth in the 2004 Olympics in freestyle wrestling and captained the U.S. squad en route to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. DC scored his third career victory against Lucus Browne at XMMA 2 on July 31 in Sydney, Australia. The 30-year-old fighter trains with the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, Calif.
What’s next for the big man from Louisiana? A trip to see his momma back home. Get some home cooking and then its back to training with bob Cook at the team at AKA in San Jose, Ca.
