Exciting Calendar of Events Scheduled Including a Two-Day
“Fiesta de la Independencia” Fanfest In Advance of the
Mexican Independence Bicentennial Celebratory Fight Night
Los Angeles (September 7) – The lazy, hazy days of summer are coming to a close, but Los Angeles is staying hot as “200: CELEBRATE AND DOMINATE” Mosley vs. Mora quickly approaches. With about two weeks to go before the September 18 fight takes place at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif., numerous events are scheduled including a fight week unlike any other seen before. The event will be produced and distributed live on HBO Pay-Per-View®, beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
Below please find a calendar of events leading up to the Mexican Independence Bicentennial Celebratory event that has boxing fans across the country talking. Will former World Champion Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora be the first fighter of Mexican or Mexican-American descent to defeat Five-Time World Champion Sugar Shane Mosley? Will boxing veteran Carlos “Tata” Baldomir be too much for the young undefeated Mexican boxing sensation Saul “Canelo” Alvarez? Will “Vicious” Victor Ortiz return to STAPLES Center and take down the experienced former World Champion “Vicious” Vivian Harris? Who will emerge victorious and earn a shot at the World Featherweight Championship when former World Champion Daniel Ponce De Leon collides with WBO number two world ranked featherweight Antonio Escalante?
All of these questions will be answered on September 18, but before the action in the ring gets underway the numerous pre-fight events leading up to “200: CELEBRATE AND DOMINATE,” will have fans and media proclaiming “Viva Mexico!” well in advance of the first bell on fight night.
